Frequently Asked Questions

How late can we book?

It is never too late to call and check. While availability does fill up fast in peak seasons, we will do our best to accommodate you.

What if we don't know anything about fishing?

Not a problem at all. At the end of the trip, you'll know a lot.

What will we catch?

Season dependent, we will have a chance at a wide array of inshore species: Red Drum (Redfish), Spotted Sea Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, Variety of Sharks, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Tarpon. Nearshore trips are geared towards Cobia, Amberjack, Barracuda, Redfish, Spadefish, Black Drum, and a variety of others.

How far out will we go/will we get sea sick?

We primarily do Inshore charters meaning that we do not venture off the coast, so the risk of sea sickness is very minimal.

Can we keep our catch?

We endorse good conservation habits. Therefore, we are primarily a catch and release charter. However, some species can be kept in modest amounts.

What if we book and there is foul weather on our fishing day?

We do our best to accommodate you and the weather. Therefore, if we can move dates and times, we will. If it is a safety concern, then we are not fishing. However, a little foul weather will not deter us from having a great day on the water.

Where do you pickup from?

While I primarily launch from Wappoo Cut Boat Ramp (google the location for Charleston SilverFox Charters), I use a variety of private and public docks and will find the site closest to you and our fishing grounds.

How can we pay?

We accept cash or major credit cards, however, there is a 3% processing fee for credit cards.

What should we tip?

Tips are generally 20% of the cost of the charter. However, I implore you to give as much as you enjoyed the trip.
